Bonding to board allows the printed image to be mounted on a strong material keeping it flat, making it less prone to damage and ready for display or framing. However today we print direct to media using our OCE Arizona 350GT five colour printer and this often removes the requirement for bonding to board.
At Synergy Graphics we bond to several types of board these being principally foam, card and wood based. Both foam and card are popuplar in the exhibition and graphics design arenas. We have several clients who utilise these types of board because of it is both light and strong in addition it is lower cost when compared to wood. Foam based board is also popular with photographers but many of them prefer an mdf wood based board particularly when the print is to be framed. In the art world we bond both canvas and paper to board almost always a fine grade mdf board is used for both strength and longevity,
At Synergy Graphics we have invested in both of the main technologies used to bond prints to board. We have both a flat bed Ademco heated press and a large format cold roller laminator. Both of these machines have a high capacity and enable us to offer large volume bonding to board.
